In 2008 YWCA Muskoka piloted a school-based program to support boys at critical turning points in their lives. Grade 5/6 boys were invited by school staff to meet weekly with a facilitator over 12 weeks. Together, they embarked on a QUEST to explore individual strengths and uniqueness, learn about character, build life skills, develop positive peer relations, and learn how to navigate challenges. These topics were introduced through a variety of games, collaborative building activities, art activities and more! A grant from the Government of Canada's Crime Prevention Strategy is funding the extension of this program to all Muskoka elementary schools and now includes the development of boys programs for grades 7 to 12.

We offer the 12-week school-based Quest programs for boys in grade 5/6 or grade 7/8 during the school year. Information and registration forms for this program are distributed in the schools.
