Y's Seniors

Y's senior women programs are for women at any age but especially for seniors. They include art workshops, financial literacy, gathering and sharing stories and building a community network. We offer these programs throughout Muskoka. Bring a friend and have some fun!

Digital Smarts Online Workshops

The DigitalSmarts program is a series of eight hour-long workshops designed to teach important everyday digital skills. The workshops include hands-on activities and videos and cover topics such as:

protecting privacy and security online
shopping and banking online
using social media
searching the internet effectively

The program is made possible thanks to funding from Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada’s Digital Literacy Exchange Program.

This course will give participants a chance to briefly explore different Art mediums.  Students will try their artistic hand at drawing, painting in watercolour and acrylic, and  cartooning. Join us as we experiment with basic techniques in each medium, as well as  discuss various ways in which other artists have utilized these to achieve various goals.

These workshops are designed to help you get more comfortable with technology. Especially now that we are all spending much more time at home and on the internet connecting with family and friends, Let's Get Digital helps you to navigate the internet and will guide you through social media, photos and storage, online shopping, all the while providing tips to help keep you safe.

Let's Get Digital is supported by the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund and Muskoka Community Foundation.

Muskoka Together

Knitting Muskoka Together began with a series of free beginner's knitting workshops held in Port Carling, Huntsville, and Bracebridge Fall and Winter 2018-19. Participants were taught the skills needed in order to make their own dishcloths, scarves, and more!

Knitters from across Muskoka joined us on a cruise on the SS Bigwin and in the YWCA Gathering Space for a Show and Share. We shared what we're working on, finished projects and many laughs!

Knitting Drop-In (postponed)

Knitters of all skill levels are welcome to attend our knitting drop-in every Tuesday from 12-2pm. Bring your work in progress or start something new after browsing through our pattern booklet! No registration required, simply drop in!

An arts-based wellness program for senior women. Workshops including dance, theatre, painting, crafts, music and more held at the Gravenhurst Women's Centre and Ryde Community Co-op.
