YWCA’s Week Without Violence
This week, YWCA Canada joins over 90 countries in marking the Week Without Violence, a decades-long campaign led by World YWCA.
This year, we rise for peace. We rise with the global YWCA movement to demand a world where safety, dignity, and justice are not privileges for some, but rights for all. Throughout the week, we’ll share what we’re doing to rise for peace and what you can do too.
Last year, 187 women and girls were killed by gender-based violence in Canada. Globally, over 60 million women and children are displaced by conflict and persecution.
Our struggles are deeply interconnected, and so is our strength.
YWCA Canada and YWCA Muskoka stand firm: this level of violence and suffering is unconscionable. We refuse to accept it. And we call on governments at every level to act with urgency.
Join us as we rise for peace together for a future free from violence.
