Quest Goes Virtual! This fall's Boys Quest theme is emotional resilience. This program will have boys engage in activities, games and conversations that help them to learn the skills to express themselves and their emotions. It will also aim to help them find new ways to connect and feel less alone during a time where connection is quite different and difficult. For those in grades 5 and 6.

This program is now full.

YWCA Muskoka piloted a school-based program to support boys at critical turning points in their lives in 2008. Grade 5/6 boys were invited by school staff to meet weekly with a facilitator over 12 weeks. Now 8 years later, the QUEST program is also offered as a Grade 9 and 10 program in four high schools in the region. Quest programs are offered to boys in grade 5/6 or grade 7/8 during the school year. Information and registration forms for this program are distributed in the schools.

Together, participants embark on a QUEST to explore individual strengths and uniqueness, learn about character, build life skills, develop positive peer relations, and learn how to navigate challenges. These topics are introduced through a variety of games, collaborative building activities, art activities and discussions.

Check with your school to see if the program is running or contact us at 705 645 9827. Cost $25.00

What school staff have to say about the QUEST program.

"In addition to Restorative Justice Practices, Quest reinforces the model of talking things out, identifying feelings, so this is increasingly more commonplace."

Quest has been funded by the following funders: The Rotary Club of Huntsville, Bala Cranberry Festival, Christ Church Windermere, The Kawartha Credit Union, Muskoka Lakes Township, Lake of Bays Township, Dwight Lions Club and the Cowan Family Foundation.
